How did you get your start in acting? I’ve wanted to act as long as I can remember, probably since I started watching live action television shows. I wanted to do what the kids were doing on my favorite shows. My parents were not so quick to say ‘yes’ though. Pursuing a tv and film career is a huge commitment and my parents wanted to be sure that it wasn’t just a whim- I was four, after all. So the compromise was community theater. I loved acting immediately and continued acting in plays until I was ten. It was then that my current agent saw a showcase I did for my acting class. Fast forward to now, and he is still my agent! 2. What was your first project? My first booking was a national commercial for Comcast. With no experience, I went straight to a big budget, SAG commercial with really seasoned commercial actors. It was pretty surreal! The actors who played my parents and the actor who played the ‘Comcast Guy’ were so incredibly professional, supportive and respectful. I was the only kid on the set and they treated me like a little adult, I thought if this is what it’s like to be on a set, I’m all in. As a child actor you are surrounded by many adults, and although you are a kid, and play a kid, there is so much opportunity to learn from the adults. It’s like having built-in teachers and role models. There’s nothing like work experience! ![]() Our interview with L.A. native talented young actress LuLu Lambros. Lulu can be seen as Ellie Peters on Disney Channel’s “Stuck in the Middle.” Other television credits include national commercials, extensive work for AwesomenessTV and DreamworksTV, guest starring roles on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show AwesomenessTV and Nick Jr.’s Mutt & Stuff. Oh wow, three words… energetic (I’m never tired), silly (anything for a laugh) and fearless (it’s pretty hard to embarrass me) “Don’t Take it Personally”, 5 Industry Tips from LuLu Lambros of Disney’s Stuck in the Middle1/1/2018
![]() “Once I got an agent I booked my first national commercial within a couple of months. The next two came shortly afterward. Beginner’s luck was on my side! Soon after that I learned that so many factors are involved with booking a role- age, height, weight, eye color, hair color, look, personality. You are not always right for every role. Most of the time you will not be right for it...until you are! Because of all of the above reasons, you will hear ‘no’ a lot. Don’t take it personally, it’s a business and they have to do what’s best for the entire production.” ![]() Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on? A) It’s an exciting time! “Stuck in the Middle” was renewed for another season. So, we are filming season three now. It really is a dream job with a dream cast and crew. I can’t think of a better place to work. I’m grateful every day to the producers, writers and Disney for the opportunity to create with them, entertain with them and learn from them. My character, Ellie, has been a true gift! Q) Please tell us how your character Ellie on “Stuck in the Middle” was originally described to you. A) The original description of Ellie was actually pretty much what you see on the show now! Obviously, the producers and writers had a clear idea and it was up to me to bring their vision to life, with a little bit of me thrown in. Ellie was said to be the only child of Bethany, who is overprotected and innocent yet eager. She is fascinated with the Diaz family, wanting to be a part of the family, always looking for a way to hang with them and Harley’s (Jenna Ortega) best friend and biggest fan. ![]() Lulu is a native L.A. girl, born in Santa Monica, California.
